Creonte Tire and Auto Repair originated in the year 1949 when Bill Creonte Sr. bought a dump truck that ended up earning the funds needed to start Creonte Tire and Auto Repair. For the next 24 years, Bill developed a small trucking company consisting of 6 dump trucks in his fleet. Creonte Trucking was one of the first trucking companies to work on the development of two major highways in our region, which are route 128 and route 2. During his trucking days, Bill repaired all of his own tires, and eventually started a side truck tire repair business where he would repair and sell tires to his friends and business associates. Bill found the Truck Tire Business to be more profitable than his trucking business, which is why he decided to put all of his concentration into that company.
In 1972 Bill found it more beneficial to step out of the cab of his dump truck, and into a service truck. He worked out of his service truck repairing and selling tires for the next three years until he had an opportunity to open a retail tire shop in Waltham, MA. This shop was primarily a truck tire repair shop, where he and his employees would repair and sell truck tires. During this time Bill kept his road service available to his customers, which was extremely successful, although he found himself working extremely long hours in order to service all of his customers in an effectively. Bill Sr. instilled into the company's policies to service all commercial customers in a very quick and timely manner.
In 1979 sons, Bill Jr. and Tom decided to enter the business along side their father Bill. This was an exciting time for Creonte Tire, because in this year they expanded their business by adding a full service car shop to their recognized commercial truck tire shop. Creonte Tire decided to open another part of the business which was a full service garage. Due to the installation of the new division of Creonte Tire, the overall profits dramatically increased. The full service car garage now offered services such as brakes, oil changes, transmissions services, shocks, and front-end alignments.
The following year Bill's two sons became full time employees of Creonte Tire, and soon after became partners with their father. Bill Jr. and Tom became significant parts of the business by becoming managers of the road service division of Creonte Tire, as well as, the Service Center. During this time Creonte Tire expanded at an unbelievable rate, by servicing the people of Waltham, as well as the large trucking companies in the surrounding areas.
Present Day:
We attribute our success as a small family owned business to continuing with the same values and methods Bill Creonte used to start the business; to complete business in an honest manner, and treat your customers the way you would want to be treated.
Currently we are as big as we have ever been, and we have recently hired Bill Jr's son, Michael Creonte. Michael is now in charge of managing the road service division of Creonte Tire, which allows Bill Jr. to put more concentration on customer satisfaction. We hope this will help us continue to give our customers the finest and fastest services available. Now that Michael has decided to follow into the footsteps of his Grandfather Bill Sr., and his father Bill Jr., he is now the third generation of this great family owned business and looks to continue in the traditions of an extremely trustworthy family name.
