Below is an in-depth look at some of the highlighted services we offer to our clients. Our experience enables us to ensure the highest quality service possible.
2 or 4 Wheel Alignment
Wheel alignment is making sure the wheels on your car are spinning parallel to each other, and that the tires contact the road at the proper angle. It is done by adjusting the wheels to match the suspension and steering parts, to the vehicle frame. By driving your car daily your car absorbs shocks and bumps, and because of this it causes the tire angles to get knocked out of line. When this happens, it can cause the vehicle to handle badly or the tires to wear unevenly. Indicators: - Your tires start to wear unevenly, your tires start to become oval like, because on the outsides of the tires where the tread meets the sidewall, it begins to wear faster than the rest of the tread
- Unusual steering, your car may start pulling one way or the other, and this is attributed to one wheel wearing at a faster rate than the other
Oil Lube and Filter
One of the most important things you can do for your car is to make sure you
change your oil every 3,000 miles, or every 3 months. The reason for this is
because there are hundreds of engine parts moving together as one, which causes
the engine to reach extremely high temperatures. By adding oil to your engine,
it adds oil to these areas where there is a lot of friction on your engine, and
by the oil being between the moving parts it reduces the friction, which causes
your engine to work at an easier rate. Another job that oil acts as is to help
the heat caused by your vehicle keep away from the hottest parts of the engine
as it circulates through.
If you do not consistently change your oil
then your engine will get hot enough to melt the different moving parts, which
will mean they will eventually melt together. If this was to happen you would
not be able to separate the parts which melted together, causing your engine to
be terminated. Changing your oil when you are supposed to extends the life of
the automobile and prevents future problems and costs.
Tire Balancing
When a technician is balancing a tire they are measuring the weight of the tire,
when mounted on its wheel and the vehicle's axle, which is uniformly distributed
around the axle. In more simple terms, there are no heavy spots on the tire,
which makes it drive without any vibrations
Tire Rotation
Why rotate the tires on my car?
As you drive along the road, your tire
tread is constantly rubbing off due to the friction from the tire and the road.
In other words, your tires are experiencing tire wear. To prevent this, tire
rotation ensures that all of the tires wear evenly which will ensure the maximum
the length of the tire's life on your vehicle.
What is the best time to
rotate my tires?
Most technicians, as well as the technicians at
Creonte Tire and Auto Repair, recommend tire rotation every 6,000 to 7,500
miles. Check your vehicle's owner manual for your manufacturer's
recommendation.
Brakes
At Creonte Tire we carry many different types of brake pads and discs. We feel
the same as many other auto service companies do; you get the best results from
your brakes by installing the higher quality pads and discs. Brakes are one of
the most important part of your car, therefore we want to satisfy you, by
installing quality brakes, which is to keep you and your passengers safe.
Brakes are not something to short change and we are here to help with all of
your break needs.
Tune-Up
A tune-up is when our service technicians check and adjust all of the systems in
your vehicle that contribute to the efficient combustion of fuel. Basically, we
make sure that everything is functioning properly. Indicators:
- When your gas mileage average falls by 10%-15% your vehicle needs
to be tuned up. A way to determine this is by keeping track of your gas
miles.
Why are tune-ups beneficial?
- Tune up can improve
your fuel economy by 4 to 12%.
- A too rich fuel to air mixture will
lower fuel efficiency.
- A too lean fuel to air mixture can cause
misfiring or engine damage.
- Spark plug timing must be set to
specifications.
- Clean and properly adjusted points will produce fuel
efficient firing.
- One spark plug, misfiring half of the time, reduces
fuel economy by 7% and two spark plug misfiring can reduce it by 20%.
- Too high an idle speed wastes gas.
Shocks and Struts
The shock absorbers in your car aid in ride control by keeping the car
manageable during regular driving. They do this by keeping the tires down on the
road and not allowing them to bounce after hitting a bump. This allows for ease
of cornering and handling.
Heating
There are multiple services that we offer related to heating systems. The services that we provide are Repairs to Heater Cores, Radiators, Radiator Flushes, Heater Hoses, Thermostats, and Blower motors and fans. These products work as one to produce heat which is a byproduct of the engine's combustion process. The heat is absorbed by the coolant in your car's radiator. The coolant is then circulated through the heater core before returning to the radiator. The heating system also includes a series of air ducts, a blower motor and fan, and temperature and duct controls, which select the desired temperature and direct the flow of warm air.
Air Conditioning
The Service that Creonte Tire offers for this is to recharge your Air Conditioner. When a car is blowing out warm air, it is caused by a lack of Freon in the A/C. During this process we also evacuate the old Freon from the A/C unit, check for leaks, and check the pressures. Dye is also installed to help with the detection of the leaks, which may be the result of the lack of cool air. Air Conditioning is the system that shares air ducts and controls the blower with the heater, but it does have its own refrigerant system. The air conditioning system is comprised of these specific components:
- Compressor- This is a pump that pressurizes and circulates the refrigerant through the system.
- Condensor- as the refrigerant flows through the condenser, it gives us heat which then converts from gas to liquid.
- Receiver/Dryer or Accumulator- this is where clean, dry refrigerant is stored as it circulates through the system.
- Orfice Tube or Expansion Valve- This is a metering device that controls the flow of refrigerant through the system.
- Evaporator Core- Refrigerant enters the evaporator core as a liquid. Heat from the air converts the liquid refrigerant back into a gas, which cools the air before it enters you car.
Transmission Service
With our transmission service we provide a transmission flush which removes worn out fluid. In this service we drain your old transmission fluid, while replacing the filter, and finally adding new/clean transmission fluid. By your car having a transmission flush you benefit by making your transmission longer lasting, with less chance of problems in the future.
